Bindella - Azure Integration Services Greenfield Integration Project
Project implementation: 2024 to 2026
Challenge
Bindella's IT strategy consolidates core applications at the group level across all business divisions. The entire IT landscape has grown historically and is to be harmonized over the coming years to better utilize existing master data (customers, products, etc.) across all potential business divisions in the future. In addition to implementing specific interface projects, the focus is primarily on establishing a methodology that enables the standardized specification and implementation of interface requirements.
Implementation of 50+ interfaces and connection of 10+ systems as part of a greenfield integration project, in which most of the systems to be connected were also newly introduced, including real-time address verification and release via an integrated BI service.
Solution
Bindella terra vite vita SA was looking for a solution to establish a stable and flexibly applicable integration platform based on Azure Integration Services. For this purpose, NSYNC provides a conceptual implementation approach that enables a standardized, transparent, and actively controllable procedure for upcoming integration projects.
The integration platform consists of three main components: infrastructure (based on Microsoft Azure and CI/CD pipelines), application layer (physical, logical layer, and control components), as well as monitoring (to minimize operating costs). To standardize interface processes, a publish/subscribe principle (via Azure Service Bus topics and subscriptions as well as Azure Blob Storage) is applied, in which all process steps are decoupled from one another.
Connected Systems
- Microsoft Business Central
- Microsoft Dynamics CRM
- Abacus
- Webshop
- PIM System
- Transport logistics provider
- and many more
Applied Integration Patterns
- Greenfield approach with Azure Integration Services as the foundation of the integration platform
- Publish/Subscribe architecture (Azure Service Bus, Azure BlobStorage) for decoupling processing components
- Controlling integration components such as ticketing, sequencing, and Key Relation Management (KRM)
- Common Data Model (CDM) for master data objects
- Standardized NSYNC project methodology for structured requirements gathering and implementation
- SYMON N:TERFACE DPM as a process monitoring and interface monitoring tool
Benefits for Bindella
- Establishment of a stable and flexibly applicable integration platform based on Azure
- Ensuring cross-departmental and cross-application processes as well as consistent master data
- Standardized, transparent, and actively controllable approach to integration projects
- Efficient operation and rapid error detection through integrated process and interface monitoring
